RICS shortlisting for Maidstone community project

Mar 11, 2024

Showcasing inspiring initiatives and developments, the RICS Awards recognise ‘outstanding achievement, teamwork and companies’. The shortlist for this 2024’s Regional Awards has today been released and we’re delighted that Mote Park Café and Community Centre has been included in the South East Community Benefit category.

The award-winning project offers a robust and flexible community facility for the people of Maidstone, providing a new 50-cover café, multi-use facility and toilets including changing places facility. The project has had a big impact on the community, with 10 full time and 6 part time jobs being created at the café, local groups benefitting from new multi-use space and the Changing Places facility making the park more accessible to all.

The scheme forms part of a £4m redevelopment of the Mote Park area by client Maidstone Borough Council which aims to futureproof the park for future generations. We look forward to RICS completing the judging process and attending the regional event later in the year to see if the project can scoop the title.
