Drew Construction

A major pharmaceutical company required more office space to expand their headquarters building. gdm was commissioned to explore expansion options and operational viability, work up designs for board approval and then obtain planning consent. Once approved, gdm provided the traditional architect role for the technical and construction stages. The design solution is a modern two storey clad and rendered construction, with a feature ‘rugby ball’ shaped rooflight above the first floor meeting suite. The oval shape then dictates the geometry for the spaces below and provides a breakout space of some distinction. Externally, the vertical wood vanes give a strong visual identity whilst providing the necessary solar diffusion.
