In partnership with Thanet District Council and the former South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA), we were tasked with designing a new business park in Ramsgate.

The brief was to produce a design for a mixed development incorporating offices and industrial units as an employment-lead development for the area. All units had to be designed so that they could be subdivided into numerous configurations to allow for the tenants and future owners to have tailor- made space specific to their requirements. 25 units, made up of eight offices and 17 industrial units were developed into the design.

The land for the project was donated by Thanet District Council, with £4.4m for the construction of the buildings and fit-out of the industrial units being contributed by SEEDA. The project also attracted European Regional Development Funding of £1.3m.

The offices incorporate cladded panels with cedar cladding and an overhanging bullnose roof detail to offer a modern facade to the road. The main entrances accessed from the carpark are fully glazed curtain walling pods. The industrial units feature vaulted roofs with the bullnose roof feature with cedar relief panels to break up the cladding. The internal spaces were left undivided to offer maximum flexibility and all units were constructed to BREEAM very good standard for shell and core.
